- Nickel-safe: tested to the UK REACH release limit for articles in prolonged contact with the skin (0.5 µg/cm²/week).
- Brass contains copper and will leave a temporary mark on damp skin. This is normal for the alloy.
- Lead and cadmium content is held within UK REACH limits (lead 0.05%, cadmium 0.01%). Supplier conformity documentation is held on file.
- We do not sell ivory, and we do not use coral, tortoiseshell or any other CITES-listed material.

Solid brass, darkened in the recesses and burnished on the high points. Base metal: no hallmark applies.
Brass oxidises. The colour will deepen with handling and skin contact, and the high points will brighten where they rub. If you want a surface that stays where it started, choose the steel pair instead.
