How a contract is formed
- Listing an article on this site is an invitation to treat, not an offer.
- Your order is an offer to buy. We acknowledge it by email; that acknowledgement is not acceptance.
- The contract is formed when we send you a dispatch confirmation. If we cannot supply an article — it has sold out, or it has been withheld by our hallmarking guard — we will tell you and refund any payment for it in full.
- Where an obvious pricing error has occurred we are not obliged to supply at the wrong price. We will contact you, and you may confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
Prices, VAT and quotations
- All prices are shown in GBP (£) — Pounds Sterling and include UK VAT at the prevailing rate.
- Delivery is charged separately and shown before you commit. See delivery.
- Engraving is charged at £15 per article and is shown as a separate line in your bag and at checkout.
- The price you pay is the price displayed at the moment you place the order. Later price changes do not affect an order already placed.
Precious metal price movement
The market prices of silver, gold, platinum and palladium move, sometimes sharply. We therefore reserve the right to change the prices shown on this site at any time and without notice.
A quotation is valid as displayed on the page at the moment you place your order, and not afterwards. A price you saw on a previous visit, in a saved bag, in a screenshot or in a search engine result does not bind us. Where a bag has been left for some time, prices are recalculated when you return to it.
We do not sell bullion. We do not offer articles for investment, we do not buy metal back, and we make no representation that anything sold here holds its value or appreciates. Every article is sold as a finished consumer accessory.
Product descriptions
- Metal purity, net weight, hallmark status, fastening mechanism and dimensions are stated on every article and are accurate to the best of our knowledge.
- Weights are net weights of the finished article and are subject to normal manufacturing tolerance of about ±0.2 g.
- Photographs are taken under controlled lighting. Metals photograph differently from how they appear in daylight or under a lamp, and natural stone and shell vary between articles.
- Where an article is base metal, that is stated. Where a surface is plated, the plating type and its minimum thickness are stated. See hallmarking.
What we do and do not promise
We offer the following, each chargeable and quoted on assessment:
- Re-plating of rhodium-plated articles.
- Resizing of plain bands, by up to two letter sizes.
- Resizing of signet rings, subject to assessment of the engraving.
- Re-tensioning of a sprung tie clip or money clip.
- Cleaning and re-polishing.
That list is the whole of it. We do not offer a lifetime guarantee or a lifetime service, and we do not describe any article as never tarnishing, never coming loose or suitable for every occasion. Metal wears, plating thins, springs relax and silver tarnishes; how quickly depends entirely on how the article is worn and stored.
Engraving
Engraving is subject to our engraving rules. We screen every request and decline armorial bearings, regimental, university, police and club insignia and registered marks. Where we decline after you have ordered, we refund the engraving charge in full, or the whole order if you prefer.
An engraved article is made to your specification and is excluded from the 14-day right to cancel under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Your rights in respect of faulty or misdescribed goods are unaffected.
Age
This shop is intended for adults. By placing an order you confirm you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
Using this site
- The text, photographs, diagrams and code on this site belong to P .A. JEWELLERY LIMITED. You may not reproduce them commercially without our written permission.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the site, to place orders by automated means, or to test payment credentials against it.
- We may refuse or cancel an order where we reasonably suspect fraud, or where an order appears to be for resale rather than personal use.
Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods, or under Part I of the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
We are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business loss — these goods are supplied for private use and we have no liability for loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.
Complaints
Write to support@pajewelleryuk.shop with your order number. We acknowledge complaints within one working day and aim to resolve them within ten. If you are not satisfied with our final response you may take the matter to a certified alternative dispute resolution provider, or to the courts.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any contract formed under them are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we both submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts. Nothing in these terms removes a mandatory protection given to you by the law of the country in which you live.
Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this page at the time you place it. Material changes are dated at the top of this page.
